Dear friends,
Throughout Advent we have looked through the doorways of Deep Stillness, Sanctuary, Welcome and Luminous Love. Now on this Christmas Day, we welcome JOY coming through our doorway. We don't know how it will come to us. We have prepared the rooms of our heart this Advent the best we can. For many of us, it's been a many-layered Advent, braided with hope and joy, but perhaps also places of sadness and fear. And still, joy can come.
If we wait for it... watch for it... open it to it... and welcome it with open hearts...
For Joy
You can prepare but still it will come to you by surprise
crossing through your doorway calling your name in greeting turning like a child who quickens suddenly within you
it will astonish you how wide your heart will open in welcome
for the joy that finds you so ready and still so unprepared.
