And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)
On Maundy Thursday, Jesus washes his disciples' feet and shares bread and wine with them. After doing so, he tells them to continue to do this for one another, in remembrance of him. He has shown them the way. Now he urges them to remember and follow.

A little over a year ago, I had a powerful dream in which I heard these words clearly: ,"It doesn't matter what you believe (what you can understand with your mind), just follow..."
As an Enneagram 5, I am a constant seeker of Truth, which is not a bad thing. But I also need to remember that the fullness of God cannot be fully comprehended by human thinking. And if I spend too much time striving for knowledge, I can miss precious opportunities to simply walk with, and be with, Jesus. The wisdom of my dream told me it's really quite simple: just follow. And when I awoke the next morning, I felt free and light.
After washing the disciples' feet and sharing bread and wine with them, there was much sadness and confusion among the disciples, and Jesus tells them, "Do not let your hearts be troubled...You know the way to the place where I am going," But Thomas replies, "Lord we don't know where you are going so how can we know the way?" Jesus answers, "I am the way and the truth and the life." (John 14:1-5, NIV)
I can relate to Thomas. He wants to know. But Jesus is saying, we don't need to figure out the way; our hearts know the way. It is where we most deeply belong. And it is the truth of this belovedness and belonging that we can share with others.
In remembrance of Him.
The following prayer by St. Teresa of Avila speaks to our call to follow the way of Christ~
"in remembrance" of Him:
"Christ has no body now but yours.
No hands, no feet on earth, but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which he looks
with compassion on this world.
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good.
Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours."
St. Teresa of Avila
Thank you, so much Donna! Yes, we must translate everything from knowing with our mind to the Reality of Love in our Hearts...as Jesus transformed the bread into his Body
so He transforms us into Himself, the Body of Christ..."{blessed and broken!"
I have been reading THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST by Thomas Keating. This Easter, what became clearer to me is ...the Gift of Peace which is given to us is possible because of our realization...of the Divine Presence...I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS. When we really stop and know that, taking it in as our modus operandi...we are finally at PEACE!
When all this "lines up' in our psychology, we can be so much more aware that every moment, every…
